Picos Horse Farm began with a promise to one horse, Pico. He was promised lush pastures, individualized care, and an early retirement for all his hard work. Pico spent his days enjoying beautiful pastures, loving care and the opportunity to be a free soul. Now, our promise to him, is to offer that to others on his behalf.

Our Story

Picos Horse Farm is set in the hills of Galena, Illinios and offers the opportunity for horses to be horses again. We specialize in care for retired and rehab horses but any horse is welcomed to our farm. Our rolling pastures allow a generous workout for the horse in body and mind. Daily care morning and night allows the horse to still be socialized and provided with a loving environment.
